Job Description Hoplite Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to support application infrastructure across enterprise networks for the UUE project. This role will help design, implement, monitor, secure, and troubleshoot systems that support mission and business applications, while ensuring application environments remain reliable, compliant, and operationally ready. The Systems Engineer will also support technical precepts implementation, documentation, and participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Key Responsibilities

  • System Design & Implementation: Design, install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
  • Security & Redundancy: Implement and maintain robust security measures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop custom scripts to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network components.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, management, and other departments to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system architecture, procedures, and support.
  • Technology Evaluation: Research and assess emerging technologies for potential upgrades or new implementations. Required Skills:
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in system engineering, testing, or DevOps roles.
  • CI/CD Knowledge: Proven experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools.
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Jenkins, Linux/Unix, version control (Git), and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Methodology: Familiarity with Agile development practices.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
