Job summary

NewGen Technologies in Tysons, VA is seeking a Systems Engineer responsible for the applications infrastructure across all networks and providing technical support to ensure application security compliance. The role includes on-call responsibilities 24/7 and accountability for implementing tech precepts.

You will design, install, configure, and test operating systems and management tools; monitor performance; implement robust security measures and disaster recovery plans; automate tasks;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in system engineering, testing, or DevOps roles.
• TS/SCI FSP Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• System Design & Implementation: Design, install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability
• Security & Redundancy: Implement and maintain robust security measures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans
• Automation & Scripting: Develop custom scripts to automate tasks and improve system efficiency
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network components
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, management, and other departments to understand requirements and deliver solutions
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system architecture, procedures, and support
• TechnologyEvaluation: Research and assess emerging technologies for potential upgrades or new implementations
