Job summary

Avalore in Tysons, VA is seeking a Systems Engineer to own the applications infrastructure across networks and to support on-call rotation. You will design, install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure reliable performance.

Key responsibilities include proactive monitoring, security and disaster recovery, automation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with developers and management.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in system engineering, testing, or DevOps roles.
• Proven experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix, Git, and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field.

The Systems Engineer is responsible the applications infrastructure across all networks. Technical support to make application security compliant. Responsible for tech precepts implementation and part of a 24/7 on call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• SystemDesign & Implementation: Design, install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Monitoring& Maintenance: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
• Security& Redundancy: Implement and maintain robust security measures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
• Automation& Scripting: Develop custom scripts to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network components.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, management, and other departments to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system architecture, procedures, and support.
• TechnologyEvaluation: Research and assess emerging technologies for potential upgrades or new implementations.

• Experience:2+ years of experience in system engineering, testing, or DevOps roles.
