Schnabel, an employee-owned engineering and consulting firm, seeks a mid-level Structural Engineer in Boise, Idaho. The role focuses on dam-related and heavy civil structural design, spanning steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.

You will join a collaborative team working on fish hatcheries, water intakes, dams, pipelines, and gates. Requirements include a Civil Engineering ABET-accredited degree, 5+ years in concrete/steel design, and PE licensure or eligibility within a year.

Qualifications

• PE license required or ability to obtain within a year of hiring.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage simultaneous tasks and multi-discipline projects through the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering activities across project lifecycles: investigation, evaluation, analysis, design, and construction support.
• Perform structural analysis and prepare detailed design calculations.
• Quality control reviews of teammates' work and production of construction drawings and specs.
• Develop structural models using finite element software (SAP2000 or equivalent).
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other design disciplines; occasional travel may be required.
