Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer (Renewables) to support the Renewables Business Unit, with potential placement in Billings, MT or the Denver, CO metro area. Hybrid work arrangement and local residency within driving distance of a WSP office are required.

The role involves detailed design for medium- to high-voltage substations and renewable generation projects, interconnection activities, protective relaying, coordination with utilities, and field commissioning support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with power systems focus.
  • Experience supporting utility substation design projects.
  • Experience with IEEE/ANSI standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience providing construction support and field commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed electrical design for medium- to high-voltage substations and renewable facilities.
  • Support interconnection applications and utility coordination.
  • Assist with protection, control, and relaying design; provide commissioning support.
  • Prepare engineering estimates, schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to QA/QC of engineering deliverables and collaborate with stakeholders.
