Job summary

ASM Research seeks a Patch Management Specialist, Mid to oversee patching of operating systems, applications, and infrastructure across enterprise endpoints. You will plan patch cycles, test deployments, and minimize business disruption while ensuring security and compliance.

You will coordinate with security and operations teams, monitor advisories, and document procedures to support audits and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 4–6 years of patch management or equivalent experience in large enterprises.
• Experience with WSUS and SCCM.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment, testing, and deployment of OS and application patches across enterprise endpoints using centralized tools such as WSUS, SCCM, or comparable platforms.
• Design and maintain patching schedules, phased rollout plans, and maintenance windows that minimize business impact while satisfying security and compliance requirements.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and remediation for failed patches, coordinating with admins and owners on workarounds and fixes.
• Implement and tune automated patch management workflows, including device targeting, deployment rules, and deadlines.
• Monitor vulnerability feeds, patch advisories, and compliance dashboards to prioritize deployment based on risk and SLAs.
• Document patch management procedures, baselines, exception handling, and reporting methods for audits and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with vulnerability management and security operations to align patch deployment with threats and regulatory obligations.
