Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Design Group in the United States. The role offers growth into senior levels and emphasizes collaboration, design studies, calculations, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities include coordinating across engineering disciplines, drafting specifications, performing essential electrical calculations, and supporting field activities and startup phases. Travel ~10%; US citizenship required for federal work.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of electrical design experience (high voltage, switchgear, motor controls)
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power, or government (DOE) projects
• EIT preferred
• Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills
• Ability to contribute individually and work well in teams
• Proficient with Word and Excel
• U.S. citizenship required due to federal contracts
• Approximately 10% travel anticipated

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure seamless integration across project teams
• Develop design studies, perform engineering calculations and analyses
• Attend project meetings and conduct field walkdowns
• Mentor junior engineers and support professional development
• Draft detailed electrical equipment specifications and evaluate bids
• Lead installations and coordinate procurement and startup activities
• Provide leadership to motivate teams and drive project success
