Job summary

Geneva Trading seeks a mid-level Systems Engineer to strengthen its Chicago Infrastructure team. You will own core Linux infrastructure, enable high-performance, low-latency trading, and drive modernization through cloud integration, container orchestration, and AI-assisted automation.

You will implement scalable, secure systems, manage hybrid cloud architectures, and collaborate across Infra, Networking, Cloud, and Trading teams. A strong Linux background and hands-on AI tooling are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Linux administration in production settings.
• Experience with Docker and workload schedulers (Nomad, Swarm, Kubernetes).
• Cloud infrastructure provisioning in AWS or GCP.
• Hands-on coding with Claude Code or modern LLMs for IT automation.
• Proficiency in Bash and Python; IaC tools like Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, SaltStack.
• Deep understanding of Linux internals and low-latency networking.

Responsibilities

• Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize production and development Linux servers.
• Deploy and manage distributed workload orchestration platforms (Nomad, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).
• Package and deploy microservices and trading apps using Docker across bare-metal and cloud.
• Architect and maintain AWS and GCP hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Write automation scripts in Python and Bash, leverage AI-assisted workflows.
• Perform security hardening and ongoing system maintenance.
• Support Windows server components and identity services as needed.
• Collaborate with Infra, Networking, Cloud, and Trading teams; participate in on-call rotations.
