Jobgether is seeking a backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable services using Kotlin and Java. You will contribute across the full software lifecycle, apply advanced architecture principles, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reliable backend solutions.

The role emphasizes TDD, DDD, Clean Code, and Hexagonal Architecture, with a focus on PostgreSQL and API integrations, plus strong testing and observability practices.

Qualificações

• Backend software development experience in Java/Kotlin.
• Experience with BFF using JavaScript.
• Knowledge of microservices and scalable backends.
• Familiarity with TDD, DDD, Clean Code, and Hexagonal Architecture.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS and API development/integration.
• Experience with Git, Git Flow, and Swagger for APIs.
• Ability to write and maintain unit, functional, and performance tests.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logs, and metrics (e.g., SonarQube, Grafana).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Kotlin, Java, and object-oriented programming principles, contributing to the full software development lifecycle.
• Participate in feature conception, technical design, implementation, testing, production deployment, application support, and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain scalable, reliable microservices using established architectural patterns and software engineering best practices.
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD), Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Code principles, and Hexagonal Architecture to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, to support reliable data storage, retrieval, and processing.
• Develop and maintain APIs and backend integrations using HTTP/HTTPS protocols, Swagger documentation, and established development standards.
• Write and maintain unit, functional, and performance tests in accordance with team guidelines and quality expectations.
• Investigate and resolve bugs, production incidents, and technical issues within appropriate timeframes, identifying root causes and proposing lasting improvements.
• Instrument applications to collect performance data, logs, and metrics, using tools such as SonarQube and Grafana to support observability and reliability.
• Collaborate with developers, other technical specialists, and client stakeholders to align priorities, solve problems, and deliver product objectives.
• Follow established client policies, technical standards, security requirements, and development processes.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engineering practices and delivery quality.

Requirements:

• Professional experience in backend software development using object-oriented programming languages, particularly Java and Kotlin.
• Familiarity with JavaScript for Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) development.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and the principles of building scalable, maintainable backend applications.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including TDD, DDD, Clean Code, and Hexagonal Architecture.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols and API development and integration.
• Experience using Git for version control, Git Flow for branching strategies, and Swagger for API documentation.
• Ability to write and maintain unit, functional, and performance tests in line with established quality standards.
• Familiarity with application monitoring, performance instrumentation, logs, and metrics, including tools such as SonarQube and Grafana.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate defects, resolve incidents, and recommend effective technical improvements.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with teammates and client stakeholders.
• Proactivity, accountability, attention to quality, and a commitment to following defined policies and processes.
• A continuous learning mindset and the ability to adapt to evolving technical requirements and development practices.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Spring Boot and/or Javalin.
• Familiarity with NoSQL database technologies.
