Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking highly motivated experienced inspectors to conduct and document inspections of highway and bridge projects throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. The role involves leading data collection, quantity calculations, and testing of soil density, concrete, and earthwork.

Ideal candidates will have two relevant certifications and either a bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, an associate degree with experience, or four years of relevant experience

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Leading data collection, quantity calculations, and inspections/testing related to soil density, concrete, asphalt, and earthwork
• Heavy lifting
• Working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis
• Ability to perform work independently
• Travel to construction sites throughout the state
• A valid driver's license is required.

Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.

Successful Candidates Will Have The Following

• Two relevant certifications

AND One Of The Following

• A bachelor's degree in construction management or related field
• An associate degree in construction management or related field plus at least two years of relevant experience
• No degree plus at least four years of relevant experience

Ideal candidates will have experience with any/all of the following

• NCDOT Certifications
• ITS Experience
• ICC Certifications
• Leading inspectors performing highway materials sampling and testing
• Oversight of interpretation of plans, drawings and specifications as relates to construction field tasks
• Site Manager or other construction software
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
