Job summary

Talanto is seeking a highly skilled Mid-level full-stack engineer for the DAAS team in Waltham, MA. You’ll design, build, and maintain backend systems in Java and Node.js (NestJS) while leveraging Kafka for streaming and RESTful APIs.

You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to deliver features and improve performance. The role requires 2+ years in backend engineering with Java/Node.js or 4+ years with a CS degree, plus experience with SQL Server or MongoDB.

Qualifications

• Masters in Computer Science or Bachelor's with strong backend experience.
• 2+ years backend experience with Java and Node.js or 4+ years with a CS degree.
• Experience with SQL Server and/or MongoDB and data security considerations.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs and services.
• Familiarity with SOLID, design patterns, and unit testing.
• Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java and Node.js (NestJS).
• Build scalable systems with Kafka for event streaming.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement new platform features.
• Refactor code to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop RESTful APIs following best practices and patterns.
