Job summary

NTT DATA Services seeks a Full Stack Java Engineer with deep expertise in Apache Kafka and AWS MSK to lead the migration of enterprise Kafka infrastructure to AWS MSK. You will design and build event-driven applications, modernize streaming platforms, and work with engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in Java-based enterprise apps, React/Angular frontend, CI/CD, IaC, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Java-based enterprise applications.
• Strong expertise in Java (8/11/17), Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
• Deep experience with Apache Kafka, including producers/consumers, Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, and Schema Registry.
• Experience migrating workloads to AWS MSK (MSK Connect/Serverless).
• Hands-on AWS experience (IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, S3, Secrets Manager).
• Experience building full-stack apps using React or Angular.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and IaC; Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with large-scale production migrations and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

• Lead Kafka migration from on-prem to AWS MSK, including planning and cutovers.
• Develop Java/Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs for Kafka events.
• Build full-stack apps with modern frontend tech when required.
• Refactor producers/consumers for AWS MSK, including IAM auth, TLS, and security best practices.
• Optimize Kafka performance via partitioning, replication, and consumer groups.
• Implement monitoring with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Develop migration runbooks and production readiness plans.
• Collaborate with DevOps to provision infra using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Ensure encryption, IAM, mTLS, and SASL/SCRAM security.
• Produce technical docs and mentor junior engineers.
