Job summary

NTT DATA Services is seeking a seasoned Full Stack Engineer (Java) to lead the migration of Kafka infrastructure to AWS MSK. You will design backend services and APIs, implement event-driven architectures, and collaborate with DevOps to provision MSK clusters.

The role requires strong Java expertise and hands-on Kafka experience. Based in Seattle, the role is onsite five days a week, with a focus on secure, scalable migration, performance optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java-based microservices and REST APIs.
• Deep Kafka producers/consumers, Streams, Connect, and schema registry.
• Experience provisioning/migrating workloads to AWS MSK and related services.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of self-managed Kafka to AWS MSK including sizing and cutover planning.
• Design and implement Java-based microservices and APIs for Kafka topics.
• Develop full-stack features and UI integration where applicable for event-driven architectures.
• Refactor producer/consumer apps for MSK compatibility (IAM, TLS, VPC, security groups).
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability for MSK (CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana).
• Define data validation, dual-write/dual-read, and rollback strategies during migration.
