A reputable national law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate for its Employee Benefits practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong background in employee benefits law, including ERISA. The role offers the flexibility to be based in multiple office locations across the country. Ideal candidates will have experience in a variety of employee benefits issues and a proven ability to provide strategic, actionable legal advice to clients.
Location:
Duties:
- Provide legal counsel on employee benefits matters, including ERISA compliance
- Advise clients on qualified retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare plans, fringe benefits, and more
- Offer guidance on employee benefits issues in the context of mergers, acquisitions, and downsizing
- Perform legal research and analysis, translating complex legal issues into clear, actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve legal challenges related to employee benefits
- Draft legal documents, including memos, reports, and client communications
- Assist in strategic planning and case preparation under the guidance of senior attorneys and partners
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in employee benefits law, including knowledge of ERISA
- Experience in areas such as qualified retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare plans, fringe benefits, or mergers and acquisitions
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex matters in a simplified, actionable format
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research
- Strong client relations skills
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
- Admission to practice law in one of the listed jurisdictions is mandatory
