Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and vocational certifications; CDL- A is preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, brake and tire work.
• Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred.
• Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire;Pass a Ryder background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment when applicable.
• Identifies root causes of failures and performs repairs as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint and task.
• Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
