Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Jackson, Michigan. The role offers weekly pay, a competitive benefits package, and opportunities for advancement within a state-of-the-art shop environment.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty diesel engines, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining vehicle readiness. Schedule is second shift, Monday–Friday, with weekends off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• 2+ years of classroom training or work experience in mechanical repair.
• CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
• Performs other support duties as required to support operations.
