Job summary

Ryder in Landover, Maryland seeks a mid-level Diesel Technician to join our team on the second shift. You’ll work 3:00 pm–11:30 pm, with weekly pay and a benefits-rich package.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty vehicles, utilizing diagnostic tools, and ensuring DOT safety compliance. Training and advancement opportunities are available for skilled technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Basic automotive tool knowledge and CDL-A preferred.
• Experience with diesel repair and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical/electronic issues.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System to document work performed.
• Adheres to safety, DOT, and MOT guidelines; performs other duties as needed.
