Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Tampa, FL. The role involves diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty vehicle systems, performing preventive maintenance, and working with diagnostic software and Shop Management System. A CDL must be obtained within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
• Experience with routine preventative maintenance and component inspections
• Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles and obtain CDL within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
• Uses Shop Management System for documentation
• Complies with safety, DOT, and MOT guidelines
• Performs additional support duties as needed
