Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification post secondary preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas and diesel engines.
• Preventive maintenance including oil changes, brakes and tires.
• Two years+ classroom training plus work experience preferred.
• CDL Class A, preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer
• Identifies root cause of failures and performs repairs
• Replaces defective components as instructed
• Performs facility maintenance duties
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines
• Performs other support duties as required
