Responsibilities

As a Mid-Level Associate in our Investment Management department, you will have the opportunity to apply your legal skills and financial acumen in a variety of ways. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Providing legal advice and guidance on a range of investment management matters, including the structuring and distribution of registered funds and mutual funds.
• Navigating complex regulatory frameworks, including the 1940 Act, and ensuring our investment products and practices are fully compliant.
• Collaborating with our business development team to identify new opportunities and strategies for growth in the investment management space.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of legal documents and contracts related to investment management.
• Advising on risk management and corporate governance matters related to investment management.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing them with expert advice and exceptional service.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in both law and finance, with a particular focus on investment management. The following qualifications are required:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal role within the investment management industry, with a focus on registered funds and mutual funds.
• Extensive knowledge of the 1940 Act and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience in business development within the investment management space.
• Exceptional legal drafting and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex legal and financial issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
