Job summary

Ripple Junction is seeking a Mid-Level Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team. You will support month-end close, financial reporting, and multi-state sales tax filings while ensuring data accuracy across departments.

This role emphasizes collaboration, process improvement, and audit readiness. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of accounting experience, a strong grasp of GAAP, and proficiency with Excel and ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite or QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of GAAP and tax filing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close processes and journal entries.

You’ll play an essential role in keeping operations running smoothly while adding to the culture that makes this place special.

What You’ll Do

You’ll support core accounting functions including month-end close, financial reporting, and multi-state sales tax filings. You’ll also work across departments to keep financial data accurate, help us stay audit-ready, and find smarter ways to get things done.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and on time
• Reconcile general ledger accounts for completeness and accuracy
• Keep clean, organized records that support financial integrity

Reporting

• Build financial reports and variance analyses that support business decisions
• Interpret financial data to explain performance trends
• Provide reporting support to leadership
• File sales tax returns across multiple states in compliance with regulations
• Monitor changes in tax law and update processes accordingly
• Reconcile sales tax accounts and resolve discrepancies

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Partner with internal teams to keep financial data flowing smoothly
• Support royalty reporting and licensor audit requests in partnership with the Licensing team
• Assist with year-end close and external audits
• Identify and implement process improvements, including automation opportunities

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2 to 4 years of accounting experience in a corporate or public setting
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Experience preparing and filing multi-state sales tax returns
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting systems such as NetSuite or QuickBooks
• Strong attention to detail and a track record of meeting deadlines
• Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance teams

Nice to Have

• Experience with licensed and/or pop culture merchandise, including exposure to royalties or license agreements
• Foreign currency accounting experience
