Job summary

Trilogy Innovations, a federal systems and software engineering partner, is seeking a Mid-Level Backend Software Developer to support a remote, multi-year modernization program.

Responsibilities include designing and building microservices in a cloud-native AWS/OpenShift environment, developing REST APIs, and guiding junior developers. The role requires a Secret clearance and offers on-call rotations to ensure mission-critical operations remain available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience.
• Active Tier 3 Secret clearance (or higher).
• Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Experience developing microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native apps.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Experience with Kafka, Elasticsearch, and enterprise messaging systems.
• Experience with GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile ceremonies.
• Excellent technical documentation and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a remote, federal project environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, create, and modify general software and utility programs.
• Design, build, and maintain microservices in a cloud native architecture.
• Operate and support an enterprise-scale production system; troubleshoot complex issues.
• Analyze user needs to develop robust software solutions aligned with mission goals.
• Analyze, design, and optimize relational and NoSQL databases.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring of junior developers.
• Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Security, Product, and Architecture.
