Job summary

Trilogy Innovations, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Backend Software Developer to provide remote support for a federal customer on a multi-year modernization program.

This role requires a Secret clearance and strong Java/Spring Boot expertise to design and maintain microservices in a cloud-native environment. Candidates will work in a fully remote setting, collaborating with DevOps, QA, Security, Product, and Architecture teams, and participating in code reviews and mentoring of junior developers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required; five or more years of work experience preferred.
• Experience with Java-based backends, Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing REST APIs and cloud-native applications.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift or similar container orchestration platforms.
• Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud services; messaging with Kafka or equivalents.
• Experience with observability tools (OpenTelemetry, ELK stack) and metrics/logging practices.
• Proven ability to operate in Agile environments and participate in Scrum/SAFe ceremonies.
• Experience using GitOps tools (GitLab/GitHub/Bitbucket/ArgoCD).
• Ability to write technical docs, API docs, and architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify general applications software and specialized utilities.
• Design, build, and maintain microservices in cloud-native architecture.
• Operate and support enterprise-scale production systems and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Analyze user needs to develop robust software solutions aligned with mission goals.
• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases within ecosystems.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and mentor junior developers.
• Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Security, Product, and Architecture teams.
