Job summary

H&H in Annapolis, Maryland is seeking a Highway/Civil Engineer to join our team and lead design efforts on roadway and related projects. You will produce highway and civil designs, apply MUTCD and AASHTO standards, and coordinate with the design team while mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires a PE license, a Civil Engineering degree, and 5–8 years of Mid-Atlantic design experience, with independence and teamwork skills. Competitive salary and benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 5–8 years of design experience in the Mid-Atlantic.
  • Roadway/highway design experience and traffic control familiarity.
  • Site/civil experience including ROW, utilities, and drainage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Produce highway and civil designs for new or rehabilitation roadway projects, bridge-related projects, or site/civil improvements.
  • Apply standards and analysis methods from MUTCD, HCM, AASHTO guidelines.
  • Work with MicroStation, Geopak, and AutoCAD; abide by current CAD standards for MD SHA, DelDOT, DDOT, and VDOT.
  • Complete work accurately following QA/QC procedures.
  • Coordinate with design team; mentor less experienced engineers in plans, specs, and estimates.
  • Handle project communication, scheduling, budget, and progress across concurrent tasks.
