Job summary

SOCOTEC Life Safety in the Mid-Atlantic region seeks a driven leader to launch and grow the fire protection engineering division in the Washington DC metro area. You will build a team, establish key processes, and drive client acquisition while delivering high-quality fire protection solutions.

The role requires technical depth in fire protection, strong business acumen, and a hands-on leadership style to scale operations, manage budgets, and ensure safety and compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• PE license in Fire Protection Engineering or ability to obtain.
• 7–10 years of fire protection engineering experience with leadership experience.
• Knowledge of NFPA, IBC, and UBC codes.
• Experience starting up a business unit and leading market growth.

Responsibilities

• Launch and grow the fire protection engineering division in the Mid-Atlantic.
• Build a high-performing team of engineers and support staff.
• Define operations, processes, and KPIs.
• Manage P&L, budgets, and client contracts.
• Develop and maintain key client relationships within private and public sectors.
• Represent SOCOTEC Life Safety in industry organizations.
