Job summary

The Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain, operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, seeks compassionate RNs for the MICU. You will provide high-acuity nursing care to critically ill patients and contribute to an interdisciplinary team under nurse manager guidance.

This full-time role offers day/evening/night shifts, with every-other-weekend work. You will participate in performance improvement activities and ensure patient-centered care for diverse communities.

Qualifications

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: at least 1 year RN experience in hospital, clinic or medical facility; six months in supervisory/administrative capacity.
Current and valid RN registration in MA with license to practice nursing.
Ability to communicate effectively with providers and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Act as team leader in Nurse Manager's absence, supervising care by RNs, LPNs, and support staff.
Ensure care is delivered per standards and properly documented.
Conduct assessments and develop Plan of Care in collaboration with patient and team.
Document nursing interventions and monitor patient responses.
Transcribe orders accurately and monitor treatments and adverse effects.
Document care processes and outcomes; provide education to patients and families.
Perform charge nurse duties as delegated and support performance improvement initiatives.
