Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn in Sunset Park seeks a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the MICU Unit 4300. This part-time evening role supports the professional nurse, assists in patient care, and helps maintain a safe, compassionate environment in a high-acuity unit.

The successful candidate will demonstrate NYU Langone Health Core Values, complete assigned tasks, participate in unit education and meetings, and support data collection for quality and patient satisfaction

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with hospital experience preferred.
• CNA background with EKG & Phlebotomy training acceptable.
• BLS/CPR certification required on entry to position.

Responsibilities

• Assists in patient care tasks and supports the nurse in the MICU.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and unit safety, and ensures clean environment.
• Participates in unit meetings and educational activities.
• Performs phlebotomy, fingersticks for glucose, and electrocardiograms.
• Answers call lights promptly and communicates with patients and staff.
• Supports data collection for quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Graduate of a PCT program

CNA graduate plus course in EKG & Phlebotomy

PCT certification eligible

PCT Certification through National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification

Must complete PCT online program within 3 months of hire
