Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Sr Nursing Attendant for the Emergency Department evening shift to support nurses and care teams.

You will assist with patient care tasks, monitor safety, help with admissions/discharges, and participate in education and unit activities while upholding NYU Langone Core Values and commitment to respectful, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include PCT program completion or CNA with related training and PCT cert eligibility.
• BLS/Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required on entry or as specified.
• Strong English communication and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in patient care tasks with focus on safety, privacy, and comfort.
• Support data collection for unit quality and performance improvement.
• Participate in orientation, meetings, and mandatory education for patient care techs.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges per unit operations.
• Provide direct assistance to care team and respond to patient requests promptly.

Education

High School graduate or equivalent

Graduate of PCT program with hospital experience

CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy course and PCT cert eligible

PCT Certification through NHA with hospital experience
