Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn is seeking a Part Time Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the MICU Unit 4300. You will assist the nurse with patient care, manage supplies and safety, and support the unit operations in a compassionate hospital environment.

Responsibilities include data collection for quality improvement, assisting with admissions/transfers/discharges, and performing phlebotomy, fingersticks, and ECG under supervision while upholding infection prevention standards

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with hospital experience or CNA with EKG & Phlebotomy training and PCT eligible.
• BLS/CPR certification required on entry or upon hire.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional nurses in patient care tasks with compassion and safety.
• Support unit operations and maintain supplies, equipment, and environment.
• Collect data for Quality/Performance Improvement and patient satisfaction.
• Assist with patient admission, transfer, discharge procedures as needed.
• Provide phlebotomy, fingerstick glucose, and ECG support under supervision.
• Maintain infection prevention standards and report observations to the nurse.
• Participate in unit meetings, orientation, and mandatory education.
• Respond to patient requests promptly and maintain confidentiality.
