Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Educator in Matthews, NC to lead unit education and develop staff through evidence-based programs. You will design curricula, assess learning needs, and coach educators across the nursing staff.

The role requires a Master’s in Nursing Education or equivalent and RN licensure in the state of work. Responsibilities include evaluating education programs, applying adult learning principles, and ensuring cost-effective delivery with technology integration.

Qualifications

• Master’s in nursing, Nursing Education or Health Care Administration is required.
• Two years teaching experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years clinical RN experience required.
• Current RN license in the state you work.
• Appropriate practice area certification within 1 year of eligibility.
• Life Support Instructor Certification may be required based on patient population.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles, curriculum and program development.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and AV equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develops a systematic education plan and evaluates nursing staff development programs.
• Synthesizes literature and research findings to design interventions for problems and promotes evidence-based practice.
• Supervises unit educator staff and participates in annual performance reviews.
• Provides educational consultation across the continuum in the area of specialty.
• Assesses learning styles and creates educational programs and materials accordingly.
• Conducts annual education needs assessments using multiple data sources.
• Coaches and mentors unit educators in curriculum development and adult learning.
• Develops educational effectiveness measures and outcomes for programs.
• Participates in selection of preceptors and coaches skill development.
• Uses multiple education modalities and leverages technology to deliver cost-effective programs.
• Provides cost analysis and manages related resource utilization.
