The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Henry Ford Health is a 68-bed, six-pod unit across two floors that cares for critically ill medical patients. As a Nurse Assistant, you will support safety, comfort, and dignity, working under an RN to implement care plans in a fast-paced, team-based environment committed to high-quality, evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Complete Nurse Assistant program or similar; perform same role.
• Medical Assistant program acceptable with or without experience.
• Minimum 1 year in NA/PCT/PAT or similar role.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program with Fundamentals of Nursing completed.
• Foreign-trained RN relocating to the United States without Michigan RN license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care support including positioning, turning, and mobility assistance to ensure safety.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to implement patient care plans and communicate observations.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergent situations following protocols.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and assist with activities of daily living.
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance clinical knowledge.
• Demonstrate compassion, teamwork, and accountability in all interactions.
