Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking a Nurse Assistant to support the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). Working under the RN, you will deliver compassionate patient care, assist with mobility, and help maintain safety and dignity in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.

You will collaborate with the nursing team to implement care plans, respond to emergent needs, and participate in ongoing education and professional development as part of our Standards of Excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of NA program or related titles (PCT/PAT).
• Completion of Medical Assistant program optional.
• At least 1 year experience in NA/PCT/PAT roles.
• May be enrolled in nursing program with Fundamentals of Nursing completed.
• Foreign trained RN relocating to the US without a Michigan license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care support including positioning, turning, and mobility assistance.
• Collaborate with nursing team to implement care plans and communicate observations.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergent situations following protocols.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and assist with activities of daily living.
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development.
• Demonstrate compassion, teamwork, and accountability with patients and families.
