Job summary

Mobile Communications America, Inc. (MCA) seeks an experienced Microwave Technician to support our Data division in Mooresville, NC. The role focuses on RF test, calibration, and troubleshooting of microwave radio systems for public safety and cellular networks.

You will analyze results, operate spectrum/network analyzers, and work with vendors and customers in a fast-paced environment on various shifts. A strong electronics background and CAD drawing interpretation are required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in repairing and installing microwave radio systems.
• Hands-on experience with project-specific OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).
• A strong technical electronics background, troubleshooting skills, and ability to conduct failure analysis.
• Knowledge of concepts, characteristics, capabilities, and theoretical design of microwave radio equipment.
• Certified on Wavence or ALU 9500MPR Microwave Radios or able to pass certification testing within 90 days of employment.
• Understanding of two-way radio / cellular infrastructure communications products, services, and systems.
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with at least one of: public safety communications systems, cellular infrastructure, military communications, civil infrastructure construction.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, adjusting, and calibrating standard test apparatus or devices.
• Analyzing and recording testing results.
• Utilizing test equipment to conduct functional, operational, and environmental testing.
• Performing detailed RF test measurements such as gain transfer, frequency response, noise figure, modulation, and return loss using manual and automated tests.
• Understanding the operation of various test equipment such as Power Meters, Frequency Counters, and Spectrum/Network Analyzers.
• Maintaining and establishing effective working relationships with other employees, contractors, and customers.
