Job summary

Mobile Communications America, Inc. (MCA) in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Communication Systems Technician to install, program, and maintain complex wireless and data systems for mission-critical clients.

You will diagnose and repair mobile communications equipment, work with two-way radio systems, and collaborate with teams to deliver reliable service. The role includes on-call support, safety considerations, and ongoing learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing mobile communications equipment.
• Team-focused with a customer-first mindset.
• Strong communications skills for end users and third parties.
• Resourceful technicians open to guidance.
• Willingness to learn two-way radio theory.
• Experience with testing gear (spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, multimeters).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• Two-year degree in Electronics/IT preferred.
• P25 and/or MotoTRBO experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and maintain complex communication equipment for customers.
• Restore systems to operation for public safety, hospitals, utilities, and more.
• Design and upgrade customer systems with latest technologies.
• Collaborate with team, Service Manager, and customers.
• Be willing to learn new communications tech and mentor others.
• Complete tickets properly and on time.
• Make minor circuit modifications and deploy firmware updates.
• Provide 24/7 technical support and on-call coverage.
