Job summary

Avertium is seeking a Cybersecurity Consultant on the Acceleration & Optimization team with a focus on Microsoft Cloud. You will develop security strategies, implement controls, and craft architecture for cloud environments while leading projects and delivering clear client communications.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in cybersecurity, strong knowledge of cloud platforms, and the ability to work independently within a remote team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT audit, or a related role, with increasingly responsible tasks.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
• Proficiency in network and system security, including secure architecture design or secure coding.
• Strong project management skills to lead multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to apply standards such as CIS, NIST, PCI, HIPAA in IT, Network, Cloud, and Enterprise Architecture.
• Experience across INFOSEC, Cybersecurity, Data Security, Network Security or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Security strategy development with clients, defining frameworks, roadmaps, and policies.
• Design and implement advanced security controls and technologies (SIEM, DLP, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection).
• Develop secure architectures for systems, networks, and cloud environments.
• Lead and manage complex cybersecurity projects to meet time, budget, and quality targets.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as trusted advisor and escalation point.
• Stay ahead of cybersecurity trends, contribute to thought leadership, whitepapers, and internal training.
