Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Email Migration Engineer for a 12-month contract. The role focuses on moving email and collaboration services to a modern Microsoft 365 environment with secure, reliable operations.

Responsibilities include assessment, migration strategy design, and automation using PowerShell, Graph, and Exchange Online, with hybrid connectivity and tenant-to-tenant migrations. Hybrid schedule supports 3 in-office days and 2 remote days.

Qualifications

Strong Exchange Online expertise required.
Strong Powershell expertise required.
Experience with tenant-to-tenant migrations and co-existence planning.
Understanding mailbox structures and PST exports/imports.

Responsibilities

Lead discovery and current-state assessment of legacy email and collaboration platforms and dependencies.
Design and execute migration strategies for Microsoft 365 messaging workloads including cutover and rollback.
Analyze mail flow, SMTP routing, hybrid connectivity, tenant configuration, and identity integration.
Coordinate testing, pilot migrations, user acceptance, and post-migration support.
Develop automation and reporting using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Exchange Online, and related services.
Utilize Splunk to monitor email logs and configuration data for migration activity.
