Job summary

Actalent in Chelmsford, MA is seeking a Microelectronics Assembler for a contract role with potential for long‑term employment. You will assemble and test advanced electronic products, using microscopes, precision hand tools, and electronic test equipment, while following detailed work instructions and ensuring quality and traceability.

The role requires strong attention to detail, experience with microelectronics assembly, and familiarity with ESD controls and IPC/J-STD-001 standards.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills and be able to use digital systems for timekeeping and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail for precise work with micro-sized components.
• Able to read and follow written and verbal work instructions accurately.
• Familiarity with J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards.
• Experience in electrical/microelectronics assembly preferred.
• Knowledge of ESD procedures and use of electronic test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic components, sub-assemblies, and finished products following detailed work instructions.
• Use microscopes and measurement instruments to ensure quality and performance.
• Read and interpret assembly documentation with high accuracy.
• Handle microscopic to large components with precision using visual magnification tools.
• Operate hand tools and pneumatic tools (torque drivers, screwdrivers).
• Maintain and enter production data for traceability and quality control.
• Collaborate with team to improve throughput and participate in continuous improvement.
• Follow ESD procedures and safety practices when handling sensitive components.
• Support testing activities using electronic test equipment as per instructions.
