Job summary

The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for an Assistant Project Scientist in the Gonen laboratory. The role focuses on collaborative MicroED method development, with emphasis on small molecule and macromolecular samples, data collection, and analysis.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required in biochemistry, chemistry, materials science, bioengineering, or related field.
• Prior experience in MicroED sample preparation and data analyses for macromolecules and small molecules.
• Publications in MicroED are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the PI in design and execution of funded projects, including preparation of samples for MicroED and data analysis.
• Optimize parameters for MicroED and manage data archiving, microscope optimization, and progress reporting.
• Mentor and supervise graduate/undergraduate students and technicians in the group.
