Animal Biome in Oakland, CA is seeking a Supervisor for the Microbiome Operations Team to lead daily production activities, oversee stool donation pickup, and ensure quality across processing, packaging, and logistics.

This hands-on leadership role works with the Manager of Microbiome Operations to optimize workflows, address operational challenges, train staff, and scale our rapidly growing microbiome production for dogs and cats.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or coordinating operations in biotechnology, manufacturing, or other fast-paced production environments.
• Experience supervising operational staff, logistics personnel, or production support teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in day-to-day production activities across material processing, QC workflows, capsuling, bottling, packaging, and inventory coordination.
• Help plan daily production schedules to meet operational goals and customer demand.
• Monitor workflow, staffing, and resource needs to keep production running efficiently.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day problem solving.
• Escalate significant operational, staffing, or quality issues when appropriate.
• Help maintain an organized, safe, and efficient production environment.
• Directly supervise the stool donation pickup driver team.
• Coordinate driver schedules, route coverage, and daily collection logistics.
• Ensure timely donor pickups and reliable transport of microbiome material.
• Reinforce SOPs, safety procedures, documentation requirements, and chain-of-custody practices.
• Train and onboard new driver team members.
• Coordinate closely with production staff to align donor collections with daily processing needs.
• Serve as the operational lead when the Manager is unavailable.
• Help maintain continuity during PTO, schedule changes, and unexpected staffing challenges.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented team environment.
• Coordinate closely with Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, and other cross-functional teams to support successful operations.
