You Will:
- Perform specimen processing, microbiology, serology, and infectious disease testing independently, including moderate and high complexity testing under supervision.
- Ensure timely and compliant specimen processing and testing according to policies and accreditation standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
- Apply laboratory medicine concepts, using judgment and problem-solving to ensure accuracy and proper equipment performance.
- Understand quality control and assurance in line with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- Follow department policies on quality control and assurance for testing and equipment.
- Serve as a resource to peers and customers, demonstrating teamwork.
- Assist in training, orientation, and competency documentation of department staff.
You Should Have:
- Associate's Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry (required).
- Bachelor's Degree in the same fields (preferred).
- National Certification as a Medical Technologist (required).
- State license where applicable (e.g., CA, FL, GA, HI, LA, MT, NV, NY, ND, RI, WV).
- Thorough knowledge of laboratory methods, microbiology, serology, infectious diseases, and disease correlation.
- Knowledge of laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance.
- Understanding of laboratory billing guidelines.
