Talascend is currently seeking a (FULLY REMOTE) Instructional Technologist.
Tasks
- Develop training processes, programs, and procedures for a newly developed training department, ensuring compliance with company standards, NRC regulations, INPO accreditation criteria, and other codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute a strategy for training program initial accreditation.
- Use the Systematic Approach to Training to develop and reinforce standards for new, high-quality training curriculum for plant personnel.
- Reinforce quality and consistency for training programs to maintain instructional and technical accuracy based on plant design changes, modifications to plant procedures, and changes in plant processes.
- Participate actively in the Training Advisory Committee.
- Coordinate with management, the emergency response organization, and other organizations to develop and improve training programs.
- Design reliable and valid trainee examination material and evaluations for classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments.
- Prepare processes for training performance evaluations, trainee counseling sessions, and individualized training programs.
- Incorporate information from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, NRC Circulars, Bulletins, and Information Notices, plant design changes, plant procedure changes, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports into the training program and materials.
- Participate in NRC inspections, INPO evaluations, visits, and management audits, and prepare responses.
- Maintain knowledge of plant design, operations, and disciplinary skills to develop effective training.
- Supervise collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports.
- Assist the Sr. Manager in establishing department goals and budget estimates for the area.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- College degree in education or training.
- Five years of experience in education or training.
- Industrial experience.
- Knowledge of training requirements based on regulation or best practices.
- Mastery of digital training content development and delivery.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to training excellence.
- High degree of trust, integrity, openness in communication, respect, and teamwork.
- Understanding of how individual actions impact organizational compliance and performance.
- Ability to adapt to changes in plant design, procedures, and schedules.
- Experience in maintaining standards and driving excellence.
- Strong communication skills.
Job Functions
Physical actions and working conditions include sitting, standing, bending, grasping, fine motor control, minimal exertion, visual and audio-focused work, and work in a standard environment. Travel may be required (0-5%).
