Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Arlington, TX is seeking a Microbiology Technician to prepare samples for analysis, document results, and maintain quality procedures in a busy laboratory environment.

The role requires basic science knowledge, attention to detail, and familiarity with LIMS. You will perform routine testing, ensure safety, and contribute to continuous improvement while supporting sample management and documentation.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma with 1+ year relevant work experience.
• Basic science knowledge to perform testing accurately and safely.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and policies.
• Planning skills to maintain supplies and complete analyses within schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis by recording, weighing and blending.
• Label plates with client and sample numbers for traceability.
• Pipette sample solutions into tubes or plates as per procedure.
• Pour agar into plates or tubes to start growth processes.
• Incubate plates at prescribed times and temperatures.
• Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing as required.
• Ensure materials are ready for next testing sequence.
• Maintain familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Set up equipment and materials needed for analysis.
• Read plates and tubes to determine organism counts in samples.
• Support quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean and sanitized.
• Participate in cleaning schedules and retain samples when required.
• Adhere to all safety policies and guidelines.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining the management system.
