Job summary

CRL – Mountain Division, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Microbiology Technician PRN to join its laboratory team in Utah. The role involves processing specimens and performing moderate to high complexity tests, under supervision when required, with emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or related field, has MT certification, and state licensure where required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology or Chemistry is required.
• National Certification as a Medical Technician is required.
• State license where required (CA, FL, GA, HI, LA, MT, NV, NY, ND, RI, WV).
• Knowledge of laboratory methods and microbiology and infectious disease processes with correlation of disease states and results.
• General knowledge of laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing and testing including moderate and high complexity testing.
• Under oversight, perform duties as directed by medical technologist and supervisor.
• Ensure timely and compliant specimen processing and testing per policies and accreditation requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment per schedule.
• Demonstrate understanding of laboratory medicine and ensure accuracy of test results and equipment performance.
• Adhere to quality control and quality assurance policies and regulatory requirements.
