Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Microbiology Technician PRN in Dallas, TX. You will perform specimen processing and testing, including moderate and high complexity assays, under supervision where required, ensuring timely and compliant results.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or related field, with national certification as Medical Technician and applicable state licensure. The role emphasizes quality control and regulatory compliance within a hospital laboratory

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in medical technology or related field is required.
• National certification as Medical Technician is required.
• State license where required (CA, FL, GA, HI, LA, MT, NV, NY, ND, RI, WV).
• Knowledge of laboratory methods and microbiology and infectious disease processes.
• Understanding of accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing and testing including moderate and high complexity testing.
• Under supervision of a technologist or supervisor where required by state regulations.
• Ensure timely, compliant specimen processing and testing per policies and accreditation requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment per schedule.
• Apply laboratory medicine concepts to ensure accurate test results and equipment performance.
• Adhere to quality control/assurance policies and regulatory requirements.
