HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services is seeking a Microbiology Technologist (PRN) to support specimen processing, microbiology, serology and infectious disease testing under supervision. The role emphasizes accuracy, timeliness and adherence to regulatory standards.

Candidates should hold an Associate's degree in medical technology or related fields, and national certification is required with applicable state licensure.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology or Chemistry required
• National Certification as a Microbiology Technologist required
• State license where required in applicable states
• Thorough knowledge of laboratory methods including microbiology and infectious disease testing
• Understanding of accreditation and regulatory compliance in laboratory settings
• Knowledge of laboratory billing guidelines

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing, microbiology, serology and infectious disease testing independently under supervision
• Ensure timely, compliant testing per policies and accrediting requirements
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment per schedule
• Apply laboratory medicine concepts and exercise independent judgment to ensure accurate results
• Adhere to quality control and assurance policies
• Assist in orientation, training and competency documentation of staff
