Job summary

Mérieux NutriSciences - North America in Stone Mountain, GA, is seeking a Microbiology Technician to prepare samples, track client and sample numbers, and support pathogen testing in a fast-paced laboratory.

The role requires a HS diploma and 1+ year of relevant work experience. Evening and weekend availability is required. Compensation ranges from $18.50 to $19.50 per hour USD, with full-time benefits and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 1+ year relevant work experience.
• Basic science knowledge to perform testing procedures and obtain accurate results.
• Basic knowledge of personal computers and laboratory safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending.
• Write identification onto plates to track client and sample numbers.
• Pipette sample solution into tubes or plates according to the analysis process.
• Pour agar into plates or tubes to begin growth.
• Incubate plates as required and monitor time/temperature.
• Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of LIMS and complete responsibilities.
• Set up equipment and materials for analysis.
• Read plates and tubes to determine organism counts.
