Job Overview

MercyOne Dubuque is a leading hospital offering comprehensive services including cardiology, neonatal intensive care, cancer treatment, trauma, rehabilitation, and more. Recognized as a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, we are seeking a Microbiology Supervisor to ensure quality and implement new technology in our Microbiology department.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Microbiology department, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Evaluate and implement new laboratory technologies and techniques.
• Coordinate staff schedules and manage personnel issues.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
• Prepare epidemiologic reports and maintain safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related field.
• At least 3 years of laboratory experience, microbiology preferred.
• Board Certified MT (ASCP) or MLT; MLS preferred.
• Proficiency in computer programs including Word, Excel, and email.
• Mandatory training in Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within 6 months of hire.
