Job summary

Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician – Microbiology.

In this full time, day shift role, you will perform complex tests on blood, body fluids, cells and tissues under minimal supervision, following FDA, CAP, OSHA, CLIA, and Joint Commission guidelines. You must have an allied degree or military lab training and obtain certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
• Must be eligible for ASCP, AMT or equivalent board certification exam and must be Medical Laboratory Technician certified within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues.
• Operate in accordance with FDA, CAP, OSHA, CLIA, and Joint Commission regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure test results support diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
