Job summary

The role requires a BS in Medical Technology or an equivalent combination of science degree with related experience; certification eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related BS with two years of additional clinical laboratory experience.
• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with four years of additional related clinical laboratory experience.
• Experience or eligibility for certification in Medical Technology or subspecialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic (waived, moderate and highly complex) testing on blood and other specimens; ensures accurate processing and reporting of results.
• Maintains and calibrates laboratory instruments; recognizes and corrects basic malfunctions.
• Prepares reagents or media according to procedures.
• Conducts quality control and documents results; implements corrective action when indicated.
• Supervises students or junior staff as needed and shares knowledge from seminars and training.
