Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in Mineola seeks a Sr. Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Bacteriology) to join our team.

The role supports routine and complex lab procedures, specimen handling, result reporting, and quality control under supervision as needed. The ideal candidate holds NYSDOH licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or equivalent, with a NYS license and at least 3 years of MT experience; ASCP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYSDOH Licensed as Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or biology/chemistry/physical sciences from an accredited program.
• 3+ years' experience as Medical Technologist in the appropriate discipline.
• NY State License required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests and procedures.
• Follows approved policies and instrument operations and proper recording/reporting of results.
• Maintains quality control, instrument maintenance, calibration and function checks.
• Communicates critical values and test results to medical staff according to protocol.
• Trains new medical technologists/residents and assists lead technologist in evaluations.

Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related biology/chemistry/physical sciences
